Anne Taiz, an award winning writer and director, founded Felis Cat Films with a mission to complete a documentary film about the No Kill animal sheltering movement. Anne is also an artist and this site will be offering Pet Portraits!
Anne first learned about the No Kill movement in 2013 when she read an article in the New York Times about a protest against PETA. This report contained a link to the work of renowned No Kill activist Nathan Winograd which immediately caught her attention.. After researching the topic and attending a screening of Winograd’s film Redemption, she began work on the first of the two films.. She holds an MFA in screenwriting from Columbia University and a BA in film production from the University of Southern California. She has worked for film producers and editors and has taught film at the college and graduate school level. Today she works as a middle school Special Education teacher for the Hollister School District.
